Ashmeed Khan has been a colleague, my boss as a director when I was in communications at the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade, and I’ve been his client, receiving amazing service from his community-minded business. And in all instances I’d say a friend and an inspirational leader. He works hard, listens carefully, and always cares. I personally believe that he would be an excellent representative for his community if he were chosen to sit on Ajax Council and he would benefit the town with his passion and dedication. Not to mention down to earth sense of humour!
Communications Manager, Not-for-profit sector
I have watched Ash grow as a business person and entrepreneur in Durham Region. I have also seen his drive and determination to not only growing his business, but also to foster economic growth for others and support initiatives in the community. This is a man with a strong commitment to family, to helping others succeed and belong. From young entrepreneurs, to economic development and diversity initiatives; Ash has given of his enthusiasm, dedication, time, and expertise to Ajax and the community.
Former CEO, Whitby Chamber of Commerce
Roughly 12 years ago Ash came to Ajax with ambitions of taking over the Durham Region print maket with Minuteman Press. As a fellow entrepreneur with a neighbouring business which is now Modern Man Grooming, it was made clear early on that his drive and focus would go unmatched. With relentless marketing and networking he would soon expand his business and ultimately step into the world of politics. I have no doubt that the very same qualities such as honesty and integrity that have allowed him to be a successful businessman will transfer into being a strong political leader.

I founded Motor City Boxing in August 1993, we had our first event in October that year and used Minuteman Press to print our posters and tickets. We have used Minuteman for all of our printing needs ever since. When Ash took over the business and I came in to order some printing he took the time to speak with me and was genuinely interested in what our club was doing in the Community. Ash talked to the young athletes in the gym and at events, he always encouraged them to pursue their goals .

Ashmeed not only takes the time to better Ajax and it’s community, but also manages to personally mentor me every chance he gets! He has assisted me with knowledge and tools required to be successful in my entrepreneurial ventures and continues to help wherever he can! Being only 17-years-old I have accomplished more than most people my age. I manage my own website design and development agency with clients from all over the world. Ashmeed has guided me in many amazing ways and I believe that he can do the same with our lovely town of Ajax!

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Ash and his family through his community involvement. Ash truly cares for our community. We've participated together in a variety of events where he has selflessly given his time and resources to aid in making Ajax a better place. He has also become a valued supplier of mine through his business where I've witnessed his good common sense and ability to get things done. He's running to represent us for the right reasons. To help improve things and make Ajax an even better community than it already is. He is an accomplished and skilled individual and so when I think of the type of person I'd want to see helping lead our community - I see Ashmeed Khan

Ash is a huge supporter of the arts in Durham Region. His help makes our festival possible and his gesture allows us to reach out to the wider community as we bring our entertainment to the region. His dedication to our fundraising, and to the arts in general, is heartfelt and we so appreciate him!
